Which marathon shoe does ChatGPT recommend and why?
Imagine you’re training for a marathon and ask ChatGPT which shoes to buy. Which brands would it put on your shortlist? We used 40 US-market questions to see how Nike and HOKA showed up in ChatGPT’s answers.
In the 10 open buying questions that named neither brand, Nike appeared in 80.0% of answers (8/10) and HOKA appeared in 20.0% (2/10). When we asked ChatGPT to choose directly between the two, the result was much closer. In the video, we compare those answers with independent shoe tests and runner feedback, then look at the sources ChatGPT cited.
